Reddit is continuing to grow our teams with the best talent. We're completely remote friendly and will continue to be after the pandemic.

Ads provide the fuel for Reddit's mission. Ads revenue allows us to continuously grow and improve our user experience. But we think ads can do so much more. Our vision is for ads to improve the overall user experience, and we believe that Social Commerce provides a unique opportunity to do just that.

Our internal research shows that Reddit is part of our users' Path to Purchase. People come to Reddit to research products, read reviews, and make decisions about what to buy. We want to let advertisers showcase their products directly within these conversations.

The Product Catalogs team will build features and infrastructure to ingest, store, and manage our Advertisers' products. The team will operate at high scale, needing to eventually support hundreds of millions of products from thousands of advertisers. These products can change on a daily or even hourly basis. The team will also need a strong customer focus as we devise new ways to bring products into Reddit's system (CSV upload, data feed, Shopify, etc).

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, build, and maintain the full-stack systems that power our new Product Catalog at Reddit.
  • Generate, analyse, and execute on insights and levers that drive new service creation.
  • Partner across product, design, and engineering teams to innovate and implement sophisticated solutions to complex challenges.
  • Ownership of the full development cycle: design, develop, QA, experiment, analyse, and deploy.

What We Can Expect From You:

  • 2-3 years of experience building clean, maintainable, and well-tested software
  • Familiarity with the whole web stack, including protocols and web server optimization techniques.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed real-time systems.
  • Curiosity and ability to be autonomous to figure out what's important.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with a service-oriented team.
  • Fluency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, Go, Javascript).
